Giants drop back-to-back heartbreakers

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants have dropped the first two games of their home opening series against the Marlins, losing today on a blown save by Rod Beck.

With two outs in the top of the 9th, Marlins pinch hitter Rich Renteria hit a two-run home run to put the Marlins up 4-3 going into the 9th.  Bryan Harvey, Florida's fine closer, finished the ninth 1, 2, 3 to close the deal.

The Giants lost in extras the night before.  Willie McGee was the tying run at third in the 12th but Matt Williams couldn't bring him home.  The Giants will try to salvage one game against the expansion Marlins tomorrow.
